March 2024 Newsletter

Our Grandparents Day celebrations were great fun for students and guests alike.  Grandparents (and other special guests) had their pictures taken together and decorated frames to hold their photo mementos.  Books were available to read together, as well as some tic-tac-toe boards for those who preferred to play games. Many thanks to Cheryl Brutlag, Ruth Kruse, and Debbie Witheft for volunteering to help; your assistance was invaluable for an event with so many moving parts!

Enrollment has begun in earnest at Little Lambs!  We love to see so many returning students on our Pre-K 4 roster, and it is great fun to see former students’ younger siblings joining our Pre-K 3 class, but we are equally excited to see the new names.  Each class is a unique experience and a new opportunity to share Christ’s love.  Stay tuned for updates.  In the meantime, we are hoping to expand our list of substitutes.  If you would be interesting in joining our sub pool, contact Mrs. Brown via phone or text at (815) 954-9962 or via email at director@littlelambsherscher.org.  Even if your availability is limited to one or two days out of the week, we would love to have you!

Our classes hope to have many visitors this month.  First and foremost, the Herscher Police Department will come to our classroom to talk about safety at school and within the community.  The theme that week is community helpers, so it is a great time to teach about the people in our community that kids can go to for help in an emergency.  We will also have a careers week, when we invite parents to visit and talk to the students about the jobs they do.  These two units tie in together, as some of our parents are community helpers, too. We like the kids to see all the people that God has placed in their lives to take care of them and their families!

We teachers also see how much the church takes care of the preschool, and are grateful that God continues to place people here who look after this mission.  It has been nearly twenty years since Trinity started Little Lambs, and we are privileged to be a part of it.
